First Road Trip

This weekend I took Cooper on his first long road trip, we went up to Hallock Minnesota to see my Grandma Gladys. Rob couldn't get off of work so thankfully my family went up as well. With all the people going we had to take two vehicles. It was so great, my Aunt Bev also flew up from Houston to go see Grandma as well. So in my car it was me, Mom, Bev, and Cooper. Christy, Adrian, Kaylin and Dad rode in Mom and Dad's truck. Thankfully we did have the truck. It's amazing how much stuff we needed to bring with for the kids! Both kids were amazingly good on the trip and we didn't have to stop as much as anyone figured we would have. We got up to EGF and visited with Peggy, Jerry, Ron and Leann before taking the last leg of the trip up to Hallock. We visited Grandma after dinner on Friday and got to enjoy the program at the nursing home with her. Everyone at the nursing home loved seeing the kids so much! Bev and I walked around to each table with Cooper and Kaylin so everyone could see them. Saturday before we went to visit Grandma, Dorothy and Laura stopped by our hotel room. Laura loves babies and helped both Christy and I out by holding the babies and even feeding Cooper. Ward, DeAnn, Nick and Morgan also stopped by and we were able to visit with them as well. Morgan loved holding the babies as well. Then we went to the nursing home to visit with Grandma and take the 4 generation pictures. That night went to Dorothy and Odeen's for dinner. A lot of my family members that live up there were there as well as my Uncle Chet who was in town from Michigan. It's always fun when everyone gets together. Sunday we went to see grandma again before we went home. It was so hard to say goodbye! I am just grateful we got up there so she could meet Cooper and Kaylin.

Smiles

Cooper is starting to smile at times when people are talking to him! It's so amazing. His first one that I can remember was on Sunday on our way home from Hallock. Mom took him out of his carrier while we were at a rest stop and was talking to him and he got the biggest smile on his face. I have been able to get him to smile a couple times since then but have been unable to take a picture of it. I will try and get a picture of it soon and post it so everyone can see it. He had a big smile for me this morning when I took him out of his bed. It made everything worth while, even the fact that he wouldn't go to bed last night until 12:30 and I was so tired.

Cooper's first happy hour

Our friends Jenn and Phil hosted Cooper's first happy hour at their house last Friday. We had a great time and are so grateful to them for giving us a chance to share Cooper with some of our friends. We had Cooper dressed in his Gopher outfit from his aunt Katie who is in Africa, but no one got to see him in it. He wet through is diaper before we got there. Thankfully I had another outfit in his diaper bag.

Future Vikings Fans

Today we went to Grandma and Grandpa Boie's house to watch the Vikings Packers game. I has so much fun hanging out with Kaylin again, aren't we cute in our Vikings outfits? It's to bad that they didn't win.

Mommy Aunts and Uncles (Denny, Anne, Chuck, Pat and Sammy) came over to Grandma and Grandpa's to meet us and hold us. Rachel, Tierra, Zac and Ari also came over. It was fun seeing everyone but I was sure crabby when I got home. I kept mommy up for many hours.

More pictures

Here is the first picture I took of Kaylin right after we could see her. What a beautiful family!!

Yesterday I had the privilege to hang out with Chrsity and Kaylin while Adrian went home to try to sleep. I had a great time just hanging out with Christy and talking all day. Of course seeing and holding my niece was incredible as well. On my way there I had two pictures I wanted to take. One of then being this picture of the two cousins and one being Christy and I with our babies. One out of two isn't bad right? I will have to remember to take that picture the next time we see each other.
Here is a picture of the proud grandparents. Both Christy and I love seeing our parents faces light up when they see the kids.

I'm an auntie!!

Yesterday Christy and Adrian welcomed Kaylin Ruby Duran into the world. She has a beautiful head of hair and weighed 9 pounds 12 ounces and is 22.5 inches long. Christy went into the hospital at 9:00 am and had Kaylin at 11:13 pm. Christy was amazing! She had been having contractions for 2 days prior to having Kaylin and ended up pushing for an hour and 38 minutes. They are thinking they should be able to go home tomorrow since everyone is doing so good.

I have a feeling she will give Cooper a run for the money and will keep him really busy. I took some pictures of the two of them today and will try and get them uploaded tomorrow or the next day.

Waiting and waiting

We are still waiting for the birth of our niece Kaylin to be born but not to patiently. I have been on pins and needles all day. Christy lost her mucus plug late last night and went to the hospital this morning to be checked out. She is now dilated to 2 and they offered to start inducing her today. She decided to wait until tomorrow to be induced when her doctor could be there. They weren't impressed with the doctor they saw today, both Christy and Adrian said he was an idiot. So they gave Christy a sleeping pill to help her sleep through the contractions she is having so she can get some sleep since she hasn't slept well in a long time. Hopefully by tomorrow I will be able to update the blog with news of her birth! I can't wait to meet her and to have Cooper meet her.

Update

It's now been two weeks since we came home from the hospital and it's been amazing. For the first week and a half Cooper sleep between 6-8 hours each night. The honeymoon is now over but he is sleeping between 3-4 hours each night.

We have had a couple of firsts already. Here is a picture of Cooper watching his first Vikes game with Daddy. Then the next Sunday we went to Grandma and Grandpa Boie's house to watch the game. Auntie Christy also came over as well and mommy's cousin Brandon. Even though the Vikings lost the second game I loved being held the whole time and being so spoiled.

Everyone keeps asking mommy how all my animal friends and I are getting along. Here is a picture of my friend Jasper and I. Isn't it cute how he watches me while I sleep? When I start crying Jasper always runs to me to make sure I am OK. Even in the middle of the night when mommy takes me into my room to change my diaper Jasper has to follow. Lena surprisingly doesn't lick me they way she licks everything else, she pretty much just ignores me. The Kitty's ignore me as well unless they come to mommy when I am sitting in her lap.

Another first we had this week is we celebrated Grandma Donna's birthday on Monday. We went to the Texas Roadhouse restaurant and I was super good. I slept the whole time even though mommy and daddy had a hard time hearing Grandma and Grandpa sometimes because it was so loud in there.

New pictures

I have been asked by my mom and some others to put some new pictures up already because I didn't have pictures of how much hair Cooper has and one of me. So here are a couple more pictures of our incredible little boy.
Here are two pictures from right after he was born. He was probably 10 minutes old here.

It's a boy!!

After going into the hospital Friday night to be induced and then being sent home on Saturday night, Cooper Allen Peterson was born on Sunday at 11:49am by C-section. He weighs a whopping 9 pounds 9 ounces and has a 15 inch head. Though I wasn't hoping for a C-section both the doctor and the nurse said he probably wouldn't have been able to be born naturally and I have to admit I am a little grateful. He is doing really great and it's so amazing to see Rob with him. Our first night together went really well last night. Rob got to change his first poopy diaper and is now thinking of changing his name to pooper. We have had a lot of visitors already and Cooper is doing really well with all the people. I will try and put more pictures of him up later since he already seems to have changed.
