Baby news??

This morning we had an ultrasound and they think the baby is around 9 pounds already (give or take a pound). So the plan is I will go into the hospital tomorrow to start the induction process. They will give me something to help soften the cervix since there still isn't any change yet and then start Pitocin on Saturday morning. When we talked with the doctor this morning I told her I was concerned about the horror stories I had heard about people being induced and then going through 2 days of hard Pitocin labor contractions and she said they don't let women go that long any more and if the labor isn't progressing by Saturday night they will go to plan B. Plan B being a C-section. As scary as that sounds it doesn't sound as scary as 2 days of labor. We will let everyone know more as soon as we know.

Yet another doctor appointment

Rob and I went to the doctor today and no change to the cervix yet but the baby is dropping. It's amazing how much the baby has dropped actually. At my appointment last week when they would check for the heartbeat they would go to the right or left of my belly button, yesterday she had to go under my belly! The doctor recommended that we come in on Thursday for an ultrasound to see how big the baby is and how much amniotic fluid is left. Rob asked her if she could guess how big the baby is and she estimated it was high seven pound range. After the ultrasound we will see the doctor again and she will check to see if I am dilated yet or not. We will then come up with a plan for induction (if needed).

Last belly picture

I figured that I should take one last belly shot on my actual due date so here it is.

Doctor Appointment

Yesterday I had my 39 week doctor appointment and again no change yet. My doctor said if I go over my due date they will induce me around the 5th or the 6th of September. I hope this baby decides it's time before that!

I have another appointment next Monday on my due date and will keep everyone updated as to what they have to say. We are getting close!

The nursery is done!

Last night I finally finished getting the nursery put together and organized. Here is what it looks like:

Notice the dog blanket to the left of the changing table? When ever I am in there the dogs will lay there and watch me work.
We have heard from some of our friends that we needed to have a TV in the nursery for those late night/early morning feedings (for mom and dad) so Rob was sweet and carried my grandma Ruby's TV up there and set it up, now I just need to get cable and a DVD player in there.

Peterson Shower

Rob's parents threw us a great shower this past weekend. It was good to see all the family together, we received lots of thoughtful presents and had great food! It was really nice to have the baby's great grandma, both sets of grandparents, great aunts, great uncles, uncle Tim and Brent & Heather's new baby Abby all together to celebrate the arrival of our baby. Rob's dad worked really hard to get the 3 season porch built in time for us to sit outside and enjoy it. The morning of the shower he was outside putting the roof on - Thanks Ron, it was really great to sit outside and actually enjoy a nice summer day! I haven't been able to do that much this summer.

Tim and Brian are now in training for the best uncle competition - Heather and I are not sure if they are going to use the actual babies or use a doll. I am leaning towards a doll, unless we wait until the kids are 12 and can fight back..

Here is a picture of Rob and I - I can't believe I only have two weeks to go in this picture.

Here is part of the present from Uncle Tim - Our baby's first Halloween Costume.

No it's not ours, we found out today that Rob's cousin Brent and his girlfriend Heather had their baby girl today. Brent and Heather named the baby Abigail Noelle, her weight was 6 lbs. 15 oz. and length was 20 3/4 inches. We are really excited for Brent and Heather and can't wait to meet their little one!

Nursery - It's almost done

While Rob was at Becker's Resort on vacation I asked Janet and Angie if they would be willing to come over and help me with the nursery. I had no idea how to put up a border and I wanted some input on how to arrange the furniture. Janet was a pro with the border! I just stood there and pretty much watched Janet and Angie do all the work! We ran out of border but had 3 walls done, Rob and I finished the border this past weekend. My co-workers threw me a luncheon shower on the 25th of July and they bought the bedding for the crib and a lot of other cute things for the baby. This past weekend Rob and I also went to Slumberland and picked out a chair for the nursery. It's a rocking lazy boy recliner in light tan. It's super comfortable, I can't wait to sit in it! Rob will be picking up the chair on Friday. Last weekend I also washed all the baby clothes and bedding that we have received so far, put it all away and organized the nursery the best I could. Once we get the chair in there and the rest of the stuff put way, I will take a couple more pictures.
Now we just need the baby.
